Day two of The First Annual Chix-N-Stix Ladies Fishing Tournament, Fort Myers Fishing

Yesterday was, day two of the First Annual Chix-N-Stix Fishing Tournament! Teams started fishing at 7:00am and continued all the way to about 3:00pm! There was a little rain in the beginning of the day but that didn’t stop the ladies from catching all of the Lady fish they could! After the last bucket was brought in to weight, everyone enjoyed great food and drinks by Bahama Breeze while at Fish-Tale Marina. Once all of the teams got some food, Kristi Riley and Lacey Rush announced the all of the winners! The whole event was AMAZING and a TON of fun! Everyone did a great job putting this weekend together and helped support our troops through Operation Open Arms. Please click below to see just some of the photos from yesterday! The First Annual Chix-N-Stix Ladies Fishing Tournament, Fort Myers Fishing

Last night was a BLAST! The first annual Chix-N-Stix Fishing Tournament held their Anglers meeting at Fish-Tale Marina, who did an AMAZING job, especially given the weather! Kristi Riley and Lacey Rush did a FANTASITIC job putting this huge event together! There was a live and silent auction to benefit Operation Open Arms (supporting our troops www.operationopenarms.net) items included, vacation packages, fishing charters, jewelry, art, fishing equipment, baskets and more! Thank you to Bahama Breeze for the great food and an open bar! Below is just a taste of what it was like there last night, a video and more photos to come on Monday! Everyone get ready for today! The lines drop at 7:00am!

Fort Myers, The First Annual Chix-N-Stix Ladies Fishing Tournament

The first event of this caliber for ladies in the fishing industry! Chix-N-Stix is taking over Southwest Florida on December 4th and 5th, 2009 on Fort Myers Beach, FL. With the cash and prize payout reaching over $5,000 and an entry fee of $100 for the ladies and $50 for the men there is no excuse not to come out and be a part of this huge event! The species of fish (ladyfish) has been kept fun to keep the pressure low; and there will be a couple of mystery fish categories, a youth division and a winner for the largest ladyfish.

Fundraiser Set for Tonight to Benefit Local Fishing Guide and Captain

Tween Waters Inn Island Resort will host a benefit for 40-year veteran fishing guide Capt. Jerry Way, on Saturday, September 26, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Wakefield Room.  Admission is $15 and includes a hog roast dinner, cash bar, live music and silent auction.

Recently diagnosed with cancer, Capt. Jerry Way is known as one of the longest working captains on Sanibel and Captiva Islands. Moving to Sanibel Island in 1954, he eventually became a captain and fishing guide, working more than 40 years on the island.

7th “Fish for Fund” Cape Coral Fishing Tournament, Cape Coral Police Athletic League. Yesterday was the Captain’s meeting at Twisted Conch in Cape Coral for the 7th “Fish for Fund” Tournament. The “Fish for Fund” Tournament is a catch and release competition to benefit the Cape Coral Police Athletic League. Shadowfax Sails To Panama, Scott McPhee, Sailor of the Seas

Scott McPhee put this video together of his sail from ‘Tween Waters on Captiva to the Panama Canal before heading out into the Pacific. Many people may remember the monthly articles Scott wrote for  the Sanibel papers as he sailed.  After one circumnavigation and then sailing again to the South Pacific, Scott is back in the area helping people with websites and graphics (as well as helping with this site). He can be found at www.RealAgentAssist.com. Scott said he will be putting more videos of the trip together, but until then you can go to his website and click on the picture of the sailboat on his homepage to see and read more about the trip! Scott also said he really misses the cruising life, and if you need a boat delivered to Bora Bora - he’s your guy!

It has been a great week for us, at the FortMyersDaily, covering fishing tournaments from the McFlats’ Invitational for the Ronald McDonald House to the Famous Caloosa Catch & Release. 2009 McFlats’ Fishing Tournament

2009 Fort Myers Fishing Tournament, McFlats’ Invitational. This weekend was the 5^th annual McFlats’ fishing Invitational, held at Tarpon Point, Cape Coral. The Fort Myers fishing tournament was a huge success, the sponsors and teams did a fabulous job making this a weekend to remember. We at the FortMyerDaily.com had an all access media boat provided by “Venture Out” and Tim Willison of Northwestern Mutual. We were taking fishing photos and videos from 5:30am till 10:30pm. So be sure to click below to see over 100 pictures of the 2009 McFlats’ Invitational fishing tournament. We took tons of shots of Fort Myers Fishing Captains from all around the area.

Thank you everyone who attended and helped out with McFlats’ Fishing Tournament. It is all for a great cause, The Ronald McDonald House.
