Fort Myers Lakes Park. We went to Fort Myers Lakes Park, the other day to enjoy a beautiful day outside. It is such a awesome sanctuary right in the middle of Fort Myers. Boating on Fort Myers Beach

No matter what the weather is like, people still love to take their boats out on Fort Myers Beach! I would do the same thing if I had one too! Here is a great shot sent to us when the clouds cleared up for a little bit.

Update on the Deep Horizon Florida Oil Spill. What is happening to Fort Myers because of the BP Oil Spill? Our Beaches are still Beautiful and our water is Clean! Great time for a Vacation!

Yesterday, we talked to Lee County Florida District 4 Commissioner, Tammy Hall. We were extremely happy to hear what she had to say! Although the Deep Horizon Florida Oil Spill has harmed a lot of things, Sanibel and Captiva are still SAFE! We learned that our water is clean and our beaches are still beautiful and this is actually a great time to visit Fort Myers. Check out our backyard and enjoy a wonderful SWFL Vacation!

Tamara Pigott, Executive Director of the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau also talked to us on camera to express what a great time it is to take a vacation in our unspoiled waters of SWFL. Not only are the beaches in Fort Myers OIL FREE, there are lots of other great reasons to visit! There are great deals on accommodations, shopping, restaurants and services. The summer season will start May 20th.

Fl Tarpon Kickball Summer League Registration is now OPEN! Register at the Fl Tarpon site http://www.kickball.com/fltarpon

Deadline to register is April 27th 2010! $10 fee will be added if you register after that date.

Season starts May 20th 2010 and we are back at the Wa-Ke-Hatchee Park. Our new division bar will be Stevie Tomato’s! Pre-Season Party will be Saturday, May 15th at 8pm at Stevie’s!

Fort Myers, The First Annual Chix-N-Stix Ladies Fishing Tournament

The first event of this caliber for ladies in the fishing industry! Chix-N-Stix is taking over Southwest Florida on December 4th and 5th, 2009 on Fort Myers Beach, FL. With the cash and prize payout reaching over $5,000 and an entry fee of $100 for the ladies and $50 for the men there is no excuse not to come out and be a part of this huge event! The species of fish (ladyfish) has been kept fun to keep the pressure low; and there will be a couple of mystery fish categories, a youth division and a winner for the largest ladyfish.

Shadowfax Sails To Panama, Scott McPhee, Sailor of the Seas

Scott McPhee put this video together of his sail from ‘Tween Waters on Captiva to the Panama Canal before heading out into the Pacific. Many people may remember the monthly articles Scott wrote for  the Sanibel papers as he sailed.  After one circumnavigation and then sailing again to the South Pacific, Scott is back in the area helping people with websites and graphics (as well as helping with this site). He can be found at www.RealAgentAssist.com. Scott said he will be putting more videos of the trip together, but until then you can go to his website and click on the picture of the sailboat on his homepage to see and read more about the trip! Scott also said he really misses the cruising life, and if you need a boat delivered to Bora Bora – he’s your guy!

2009 McFlats’ Fishing Tournament

2009 Fort Myers Fishing Tournament, McFlats’ Invitational. This weekend was the 5^th annual McFlats’ fishing Invitational, held at Tarpon Point, Cape Coral. The Fort Myers fishing tournament was a huge success, the sponsors and teams did a fabulous job making this a weekend to remember. We at the FortMyerDaily.com had an all access media boat provided by “Venture Out” and Tim Willison of Northwestern Mutual. We were taking fishing photos and videos from 5:30am till 10:30pm. Thank you everyone who attended and helped out with McFlats’ Fishing Tournament. It is all for a great cause, The Ronald McDonald House. Ok, although it wasn’t really Flipper (it was probably his grandson), dolphins are so amazing to watch. They look like they have so much fun surfing the wake! Having Fun

Hang Gliding Photos! Check them out! Sandy Ramsath had an amazing time going on the Bay flying 1500 feet up, soaring like a bird. This is one of the greatest things to do on the water, way more fun then para-sailing. The crew lifts you off the boat, cut the rope and let you fly. What is this Seaphantom?

What is this? The Seaphantom! David Borman designer and Kenny Kasten Pilot have the first prototype of a working wing in ground effect craft. It is 30feet long and is made of carbon fiber and Kevlar.
