Builders Care, the nonprofit arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA), is hosting a raffle for a chance to win tickets to the 2012 Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla. All funds raised will help local homeowners in need with emergency home repairs. The package includes two tickets to the Outback Bowl game on Monday, Jan. 2 at 1 p.m. when the Michigan State Spartans take on the Georgia Bulldogs at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.  The World Championship of Sand Sculpting is underway and the winners for this solo division competition have been announced!

The Sculptor’s Choice Award is one of the most prized, as it’s an award given by the sculptor’s peers. It signifies distinct creativity and skill demonstration.

Charlie Beaulieu, event director and a World Championship winner twelve times over, commented “This is the best venue the World Championship event has ever been held at. The sculptures are amazing which makes the judging very difficult.”

This is the first time the World Championship of Sand Sculpting event has ever been held in Florida. From today until the 27th, master sculptors will be on-site to create additional exhibition art, and answer questions about the masterpieces.. Guests will also enjoy a myriad of other activities including live music daily.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Fort Myers Crowne Plaza for three nights. I had a lot of business to take care of and the Fort Myers Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Lee County. It took me less than 10 minutes to Downtown Fort Myers, 5 Minutes to Cape Coral and hardly anything to the beach. Crowne Plaza is located in the Bell Tower Shops, so I just walked over to all of the restaurants and stores, it was great. While staying there I got a great room with a wonderful view of the pool, it was where I spent my afternoons after working out in their fitness room. The accommodation provides wireless Internet and a business room with large screen computers and a comfortable work environment. Very helpful when having to respond to tons of emails! Overall, I would recommend the Crowne Plaza to everyone who is looking for a place in town to stay! I was able to complete a great deal of work and be totally comfortable while doing so!

Yesterday, we talked to Lee County Florida District 4 Commissioner, Tammy Hall. We were extremely happy to hear what she had to say! Although the Deep Horizon Florida Oil Spill has harmed a lot of things, Sanibel and Captiva are still SAFE! We learned that our water is clean and our beaches are still beautiful and this is actually a great time to visit Fort Myers. Check out our backyard and enjoy a wonderful SWFL Vacation!

Last night we stopped by the Fort Myers Crowne Plaza to take some photos of people enjoying the New Years Eve Party that was held in the Ballroom. Everyone was having a GREAT time! The music was 70′s, the drinks were flowing and the rooms were available for everyone at a great price!
