Local builder and volunteers partner to provide much-needed handicap accessibility in home
What:
Donors and partners of the Builders Care program will surprise a local Fort Myers woman with news that her home will be renovated to accommodate her recent double leg amputation.Elizabeth (Beth) Styles, 52, is currently in physical therapy while living at Health Park Rehabilitation and Care Center in Fort Myers while recovering from the amputation of her remaining leg due to infection. A cancer survivor, Styles has lived in hospitals since December 2010. In June, she lost her husband to illness. Her primary form of mobility is a wheelchair and her home is not currently handicap accessible. To improve wheelchair accessibility and safety in the Styles’ home, volunteers will renovate the bathroom complete with roll-in shower and handicap accessible fixtures as well as new hard surface flooring in the living area and bedroom. The project is expected to be completed within five days.

Builders Care partners and volunteers will surprise Beth Styles with the news that her home will be renovated through donations provided by local sub-contractors.

From US 41: Take US41 South to Gladiolus Blvd. and head west. Stay to the left and veer left onto overpass to Summerlin Road (left). Follow approximately 3 miles and take a right on Bass Road. Pass Health Park hospital on the left and take a right just past the ER sign onto Health Park Circle. Take first left onto Rose Rush Court.
