Miromar Outlets is expecting greater than normal attendance at the 11th Annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration on Saturday, July 3rd presented by Miromar Outlets and Germain Arena. This year, organizers are anticipating an even higher turnout, in part, because of the cancellation of some of the other large fireworks displays in Southwest Florida.
At 5p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Southern Extreme Water-Ski Team will perform on the lake between Miromar Outlets and Germain Arena. At 5:30 p.m. live music will be performed by the GEEK SKWAD, a high energy rock band. The entertainment will continue into the evening. The fireworks show will take place over the lake beginning at dusk. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Coolers and personal fireworks are not permitted. Restaurants in Miromar Outlets prepare weeks in advance for the volume of food sales during the Independence Day Celebration. The full compliment of restaurants will be open during the celebration. Additional parking for the fireworks is available at Germain Arena after 5 p.m.
“We are pleased to have the ability to consistently provide this event for the community to enjoy. Miromar Outlets has a solid partnership with Germain Arena, and the continued support of other local sponsors allows us to put on this annual family event.” says Jeff Staner, Vice President and General Manager of Miromar Outlets. Additional sponsors include Naples Fire Protection, Inc., Florida Weekly, Vila and Son Landscaping Corporation, B&I Mechanical Contractors, Inc., Bank of America, G4S Secure Solutions USA and Fireworks Displays, Unlimited.
A decade ago, Miromar Outlets teamed with what was then Everblades Arena to bring a 4th of July fireworks display to Southern Lee County. The Independence Day Fireworks Celebration at Miromar Outlets has become a highlight in Estero year after year. The first year, the fireworks brought out “thousands” of visitors for the thirty-minute display; attendance in 2009 was estimated at 20,000 people.
“The show gets bigger and better every year, and the community’s response is extremely gratifying. The mall has plenty of parking and space to make it convenient. Families make an entire day of it, taking advantage of the terrific prices at our sidewalk sales, enjoying the restaurants, live entertainment, water ski shows and ending the night with a spectacular fireworks display.” says Staner.
From 3 to 8 p.m., the Lee Memorial Blood Mobile will be on site located next to Reebok Outlet Store. Vital health checks for each prospective donor include pulse rate, blood pressure, body temperature, anemia (iron level), and blood type and cholesterol levels at no charge. The Estero Rotary Club will be accepting donations during the celebration for Barbara’s Friends – The Southwest Florida Children’s Hospital Cancer Fund.
