25th ANNUAL CAPE CORAL FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS ANNOUNCES 2010 POSTER ARTIST, ECHO CHERNIK
The Rotary Club of Cape Coral has selected internationally recognized artist, Echo Chernik as their 2010 poster artist for the 25th Annual Cape Coral Festival of the Arts. Taking place Saturday and Sunday, January 9th and 10th from 10:00 am to 5:00 p.m. daily.
An art nouveau influenced artist, Chernik has experience as a commercial artist, specializing in poster design, advertisements, package design and book covers. She is traditionally trained and a graduate of Pratt Institute and currently residing in Southwest Florida.
Every since the event’s inception, an artist has been chosen to create a commemorative poster which is used to promote the event and sold to patrons and collectors. This year’s poster by Chernik will be available at the event for $10 and displayed on the cover of the official program which will be inserted in The News-Press prior to the event. Previous poster artists include Gretchen Kish Serrano, Christine Reichow, and Clare E. Candelori.
As one of Southwest Florida’s largest art shows, the event showcases the works of over 300 juried artists and artisans featuring fine art, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, photography, metal works, mixed media and much more. It is recognized by Sunshine Artist Magazine as one of the 75 Best Arts and Crafts Show in the nation.
The festival takes place on Cape Coral Parkway in downtown Cape Coral between Del Prado Boulevard and Vincennes. Free admission and parking will be provided along with area’s largest collection of art, food and fun for the whole family.
The festival is produced by The Rotary Club of Cape Coral and the City of Cape Coral.
