R.O.C.K. programs are specifically for kids that have been diagnosed with cancer. These programs include: R.O.C.K camp for children ages 7 to 16 that have been diagnosed with cancer, R.O.C.K families’ weekend for patients, parents and sibling, as well as college scholarships. They also partially fund childhood cancer research, implement early detection programs and prevention and provide assistance for parents to access the best treatment for their child.
The American Cancer Society depends on the generosity of donors to fund the fight against cancer. Each donation is vital, whether it is given by a foundation, in a bequest, or dollar-by-dollar at a fundraising event. The “Ball” is slated for January 23, 2010 at the Bell Tower Shops and is the top fundraiser in Lee County and the top ranked Cattle Barons’ Ball in Florida. Past events have raised more than $760,000.
