FORT MYERS, FLORIDA’S BEST CHEFS CAME TOGETHER TO SUPPORT BABIES AT MARCH OF DIMES SIGNATURE CHEFS AUCTION

On September 12th at Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa more than 400 guests were treated to an opportunity to savor the signature dishes of Southwest Florida’s top chefs with only one reservation, to benefit the March of Dimes.

Thanks the generous support of the community, the March of Dimes raised $42,500 to support lifesaving research and educational programs aimed at giving every baby a healthy start.  An example of how the money is put to use, guests were moved by a first-hand account of the impact the March of Dimes has had on the lives of the local Malach family whose child was born 14 weeks early.

Fifteen local restaurants competed for the title of People’s Choice and various Judges’ Awards. The People’s Choice winners were 1st Matzaluna Italian Restaurant, 2nd Biddles Restaurant & Piano Bar and 3rd Blu Sushi. Best Table Display winners were 1st Bistro 41, 2ns Irresistible Confections and 3rd Biddles Restaurant & Piano Bar. Other winners included: Irresistible Confections for Dessert/Catering, Bistro 41 for Fine Dining and Parrott Key Caribbean Grill for Upscale Casual.

“Thanks to the generous support of Southwest Florida individuals and businesses who provided wonderful items for the silent and live auctions and the outstanding leadership of our volunteer committee, the event was outstanding,” exclaimed March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction Community Director, Roxann Franklin.  “We are deeply grateful to our sponsors that include Gulfcoast Coin & Jewelry, LLC; Czaia & Gallagher, P.A. and State Farm Insurance, Dionne Chichester Insurance Agency, Inc., along with everyone who donated to this year’s Signature Chefs Auction.”
